JazzWeek's Top 100 Jazz and Smooth 2003 Year-End Charts Released
Dianne Reeves, Mindi Abair Finish At No. 1

Vocalist Dianne Reeves' Blue Note release A Little Moonlight was the most-played new album on Jazz radio in 2003, while saxophonist Mindi Abair's GRP debut It Just Happened That Way, led reports from JazzWeek's Smooth Jazz reporters.

Kenny Garrett's Standard of Language (Warner Bros.) was the second most-played CD on jazz radio in 2003, following up his 2002 No. 1, Happy People.
Word Of Mouth Revisited (Heads Up) by the Jaco Pastorius Big Band was third most-reported. Pianist Jacky Terrason, finished fourth with Smile (Blue Note), while bassist Christian McBride's Vertical Vision (Warner Bros.) rounded out the Jazz top five for the year. McBride was also one of the featured bassists on Word Of Mouth Revisited.

Following Abair on the Smooth chart were Kenny G with Paradise (Arista), David Sanborn's Time Again (Verve), Night Grooves from Chieli Minucci (Columbia), and Spyro Gyra's Original Cinema (Heads Up).
The year 2003 was the second complete calendar year for JazzWeek, which started compiling radio airplay reports for Jazz and Smooth Jazz in August, 2001. JazzWeek will continue to publish a year-end chart each year.
