Absolutely Peter. Her voice is clearly established. I was talking with my buddy Steve Wilson the other day about the date....we were talking about how difficult it is to solo over her music. She has this beautiful way of "floating" through the piece which is tricky in itself in how it affects the time and her unique way of making the band feel grounded in the time and then there is that very deep harmonic element...Steve's playing on "Sky Blue" is wonderful. I've always talked about him being one of the top soprano players on the scene and he proves it again here. Rich Perry is one of the most underrated tenor players playing today. His voice now is established as well and it's wonderful to see how Maria pulls an Ellington by writing to his personality on "Rich's Place." "Sky Blue" will definitely be in my top picks of the year.

"The JPL": Howzzit ---

I hope that many of you have received, and had an opportunity to listen to,
Maestra Schneider's Orchestra new CD, "Blue Sky".

I have found great pleasure in my hearing the music.

"Cerulean Skies" is a chef d'oeuvre - taking flight monumentally in scope -
bold, airy and light, soaring, transportive, and expansive.

Kudo'zz to Mzz. Schneider; a tip of the hat & a salute to The Orchestra.
Play on...

''The New York Sessions'' (www.kochdistribution.com), the latest release by Lisa Hilton adds at radio August 6th. The CD has received rave reviews, and many stations jumped early on the music, already placing it in the most added section on two radio charts. As the producer, as well as the composer and pianist, Hilton finds the early response gratifying:
''In setting the tone for the session, I wanted to create tracks that were melodic, expressive and appealing. I think Christian McBride, Lewis Nash, Jeremy Pelt and Steve Wilson did an amazing job with the music, and it's thrilling that we're getting a strong response right away''. www.LisaHiltonMusic.com
