Last night's Annual jazz89KUVO's Anniversary Party was another happy night
for all involved. As usual a special invitation only audience of members,
sponsors and special friends were treated to stimulating conversation by
fellow jazz lovers, fine food, beverages, desserts and our birthdays cakes.
This year's live concert was as good as any of the 22 birthday parties,
Rickey Woodard and Paul Bollenbach who had never performed together shared a
instant chemistry in their playing, it was as if they had jammed side by
side countless times over the years, Henry Butler was the ideal pianist for
the ocassion, Ken Walker anchored the group brilliantly and Rickey who had
played with Ken many times in the 1990s at our legendary 'Pec jazz bar was
very pleased to share the stage with the world class bassist again, as
always Paul Romaine impressed the visitors with his unique brand of
drumming, tremendous evening. René Marie and Joe Bonner were part of our
party crowd and a splendid time was had by all.  See our first run of
