No one looms larger in the history of jazz than Louis Armstrong, and 
The Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra pays tribute to the innovative 
trumpeter and singer in concert on Jazz Northwest this Sunday afternoon 
at 1 PM PDT on 88.5 KPLU and streaming live online at www.kplu.org .  
Five stellar trumpet players are featured solists (Jay Thomas, Thomas 
Marriott, Jonathan Pugh, Tatum Greenblatt and Vern Sielert) and Louis 
Armstrong’s last regular bass player, Buddy Catlett sits in.  Also, 
four outstanding high school seniors from Roosevelt and Garfield High 
Schools are featured in one number.  The concert was recorded at 
Nordstrom Recital Hall at Benaroya Hall in Seattle.  Jazz Northwest 
airs at 1 PM on Sundays, on 88-5, KPLU, and is made possible by The 
Boeing Company.

This program will also be available as a podcast for one week following 
the airdate.
