[JPL] anyone know about Yuri Bashmet?

He's a fine viola player in the classical idiom, with a penchant for more or
less contemporary composers.  I don't know that he's done anything in a
particularly jazz vein, but if you like good modern music, or hearing an
instrument that, in the classical idiom, is more often relegated to a
background or harmony role, he's worth hearing.
