Mainly a relaxed end-of-year show, I was inspired to kick things off with
some Elmo Hope after Grant Stewart's mention that he was performing in NYC
this week with a group including Bertha Hope in a tribute to EH's music. And
of course, Andrew Hill and Sam Rivers brought some Hope to the show too.
Also some tunes from folks coming in the new year: Joe Locke, Fernanda
Cunha/Ze Carlos, Jane Bunnett, Norma Winstone, and one from last weekend,
the B3 Kings (with Cory Weeds) at the Cellar.

Coming up tomorrow *Ken Lister* and *Roy Styffe* are dropping into the
studio in advance of their performance this weekend at the Cellar, expect
them to bring some of their favorite sides. As well, I'll feature a couple
of recent releases that I've been really enjoying lately, the *Wave
Mechanics Union* and *Sheila Jordan*'s latest on Justin Time - take a break
from avoiding going shopping and check it out ... N
