If you're looking for a new Black History Month special, Joyride Media
will be producing a show on 2008 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees
Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, and their influential work at Philadelphia
International Records. We are aiming to have this done in time to air
by Feb 22 for the end of that month. It will also be timely in early
March around the Rock Hall induction on March 10.

Can you let me know when you want to air this? I want to make sure
interested stations get copies of the show as soon as it's ready

The show will include the stories behind songs like "Backstabbers,"
"Love Train," and other PIR hits, some rare tracks, and interviews with
the label's best known artists. Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff will also
discuss their community and housing projects around Philadelphia. It's
currently in production and should be ready to air by the weekend of Feb
22, in time for the end of Black History Month. (This will include Lou
Rawls and take the place of his own special I mentioned here last
month.)

We've had great feedback from many of you about our classic r&b radio
specials (Sly & the Family Stone, Sam Cooke, Buddy Guy, Chaka Khan, etc)
so I hope you like this one too. I believe the folks at WBGO were
especially happy with the audience reaction to the Sly show over Labor
Day weekend.

If you're looking for any programs for early Feb, our specials on Nina
Simone and Fats Waller, as well as those listed above, are all still
available for broadcast. You can download from PRX at
http://www.prx.org/group/joyride/pieces or request CDs.

Thanks,
