I am familiar with KOOP, in my travels to vist friends in Austin I visited
the station as one of my friends hosted a salsa show on KOOP.

When I first moved to Miami from SoCal in 1989 I(and others) recieved death
threats and bomb scares for the simple action of playing music on the radio
from post-1959 Cuban groups, fortunately we all knew them to be intimidating
idle threats however Miami has been witness to several bombings of venues
and cars for person perceived to be pro-Castro.
