Seems to me Rene's coming in for a lot more bashing than Tony Bennett 
did for singing "America the Beautiful" at the 1st game of the 1998 
World Series.  He sang it before a heck of a lot more people than 
Rene too.  But Barack Obama gets to have his "Sister Souljah" moment 
if you recall the 1992 Clinton campaign.

And if we're talking disrespect here, let's talk about what passes 
for "singing" the National Anthem.  The current batch of popular 
"singers" desecrate it every time they attempt to sing it.  That 
strikes me as far more abhorrent than anything Rene could have ever done.
