Re:  RE: [JPL] Shades of Felicano & Hendrix in the 60s. René Marie stirs it up

Ron,

I appreciate your response on this. You came in here with an opinion on Renee...as an artist...and showed her respect...even though you disagreed with her decision. I did the same and that's the way other artists should treat her simply because she didn't hurt them or anyone else...intentionally. Her decision had merit and was carefully thought out from her perspective as a black woman and her experiences living in this country. I'm sure those experiences are radically different in spots than those of the folk that criticized her here and I'm sure from their perspective not one ounce of thought was given to this point.

Renee deserved better than what Lenore Raphael gave her. And Lenore while I respect you as an artist I don't think Renee would come into this public forum dissin you because of something you did that YOU felt was important to you as an artist and person...whether or not she agreed with it. I know Renee and I don't see her doing something like that. She's an artist like you, me, Ron and others...and a good one...and deserved better than what you gave her here simply because you didn't agree with what she did.

Thank you Ron. You are always the consummate gentlemen and I simply wanted you to know that I greatly appreciate it.

Jae Sinnett
