My favorite is Al Dimeola. The clean precision, combined with the
soaring pyrotechnics was always magic to my ears. I especially dug his
work on "Flight Of The Newborn," "Song To The Pharoah Kings from "Where
Have I Known You Before" and "The Romanic Warrior." I didn't think
Dimeola's remake of Senor Mouse on his own recording was as strong as
Connors. I wished I could have heard RTF when they had Earl Klugh in
the band. I can't imagine how that sounded.
They come to Cleveland on June 24th. I'm sooooooooo there!

BTW, it looks like I'll be an attendee to JazzWeek. Hope to see you all
there!

Aloha,

Bobby

Just curious...and for fun...which guitarist do you enjoy most with
RTF? Bill Connors or Al Di Meola? Personally, I'm a fan of the Bill
Connors period. The music just had a different edge to it. Raw
and open. With Di Meola it seemed more precision based. Great yes but
more metronomic with the time. I'm sitting here listening to the
Anthology with a big smile on my face. I remember listen to the 8 track
tape of "Hymn Of the Seventh Galaxy" and just being blown away. "Space
Circus" and "Senior Mouse" kills me to this day. It was cool to see
Chick and Gary doing the latter on their latest.
