[JPL] Another Food Idea

Here's another food idea for your drive....this works if you can cook. One of the things I've learned over the years is that listeners want to feel connected to the announcer. They love talking with us. Knowing that I can cook the station asked me if I would offer three of these deals....for large pledges...go to their homes and cook a meal for them and up to six of their friends. I agreed. They asked after I had done a couple of cooking benefits with area chefs for the stations. This idea came in the middle of our spring drive. Within a half an hour the deal was done...crazy amounts pledged. The first was for $1500...the second...$1800 and the third...$2500. We were asking for $1200 which is what we call out Leadership Circle level. Many, many more were calling and asking if they could pledge for it. We probably could have done 10 more that day. I will definitely do more for our fall drive...and start it earlier. 

If anyone is interested in considering doing this contact me off list and I'll give you some ideas. The ones I've done have been really fun and it's interesting in that many of the guests at these homes wanted to pledge to do it. So to you programmers....if you can throw down in the kitchen on a few tasty dishes...definitely consider doing this. You will raise money and it goes to jazz.
