Some of Yannick's compatriots over at the Effendi label have been
collaborating with Shanghai singer Coco Zhao performing tonight at the
Vancouver International Jazz Festival:

He sings jazz arrangements of Shanghai folk songs in a style comparable to
Jimmy Scott, really a wonderful vocalist in fabulous arrangements, one cd on
Effendi called Dream Situation.

Just goes to show that Jazz *is* world music .... N
