While there are dozens of muy caliente Latin jazz recordings, the nature of
the beast, here are 2 of my favorites.

Hilton Ruiz, a song written by Chucho Valdés in tribute to McCoy Tyner,
"Tunes A Coy", it is on the RMM/Tropi-Jazz release of Chucho Valdés Live at
the Bronx Lebanon Hospital Fundraiser, although uncredited Hilton is the
piano player as can be seen in the accompanying video, Hilton does one of
his typical solos where one hand is playing a Latin vamp and the other a
jazz riff.

>From the Blue Note release of Irakere: Live at Ronnie Scott's, Flute Notes,
the flautist Orlando Valle-"Maraca" and the percussionist, the late Miguel
Díaz-"Angá" end the jam by trading fours & duplicating each other's solos on
their instrument.
