This year like every year since the inception of JAM, jazz89KUVO is planning
daily spotlights for our local, regional and state artists along with
national and internationally known artists. We will also have an edcuational
component by bringing in 2 local local high school jazz bands to play live
in our Oasis Performance Studio as well as professional musicians throughout
the month. During April we'll have pre-recorded segments by NEA Jazz
Masters, Scott Willis' Talkin' Jazz, Verve Diva series and 1-hr
documentaries on Benny Goodman, Tony Bennet, Frank Sinatra, US Air Force
Airmen of Note shows with Paquito D'Rivera & Karrin Allyson.  We will have
daily trivia questions with the correct answering listener receiving a
current CD or jazz89 apparel item. Many of our on-air hosts will have
special programming during their shifts and we are working with having a
classroom or 2 or 3 visit the station during April. Our home page will have
links to the Smithsonian, other pertinent links and information about JAM.

I would enjoy seeing what others are doing for possible ideas because one
thing is for sure, April should not be business as usual.
