I remember his show. It was called "The Mark of Jazz." Did he use
Maynard Ferguson's version of Frame for the Blues? It was somebody's
theme during that period. I had a job working in a men's clothing store
a few blocks from my house in Camden, NJ. The radio in the store was set
to WHAT so I heard lots of Sid Mark.
I believe his 4pm theme was "Theme for the Blues." Then at 5pm he did the
Shorty Rogers composition called "Maynard Ferguson," played by Kenton, a fiery
feature for Maynard..For many reasons, Maynard was a much more agile and
interesting soloist as a younger man.

At some time during the mid-late 60s, someone (maybe Slide Hampton) wrote a
number called "The Mark of Jazz," hoping it would displace the regular theme,
but it didn't take hold.
