[JPL] R.I.P. Studs Terkel

He led a long and creative life.  Rest in peace, Mr. Terkel, you certainly
left your mark on the 20th Century (and on into the 21st.)

One of my favorite memories of the period I was at Vermont Public Radio from
1977 through 1985 was the special live call-in program we did with him.
Steve Robinson, who was VPR's Development Director at the time, produced
this one-time special.  I was one of the broadcast engineers.  Local labor
activists, musicians performing in-studio, lots of stimulating telephone
discussion, Studs's choices of recorded music and live-in-studio
cutting-edge comedy by the Panther Players were all part of the mix.  I
surely do wish that a tape existed of this program.  Perhaps George Thomas
at VPR knows if one is buried in the archives...
