[JPL] Chord sequences can't be copyrighted

I think there is a logical reason why chord sequences can't be 
copyrighted. I'm not a musician so I may be wrong but if you take a 
chord (any chord) there are rules that dictate what chords would be the 
best choice to come after that chord. After a certain chord, you most 
frequently will follow it with this chord although sometimes you may 
follow it with that chord. What that means is that some of the ideas of 
chord progressions just follow a (natural) pattern.

Musicians please help me out here but I think I'm basically correct.
