Bit of a truncated show but still lots of time to get some tasty tidbits in,
mixed bag looking ahead to the double bill of Jon Hassell and Dhafer
Youssef, the recently announced San Francisco Jazz Collective with Renee
Rosnes' arrangement of Shorter's classic (they're touring with the music of
McCoy Tyner this year), and Sonny Rollins coming back to the festival in
June.

Opened up the show with some Tadd Dameron and featured some of pianist Tardo
Hammer's latest, a tribute to Tadd. With tenor Grant Stewart too, both in
town at the Cellar this coming weekend (Tardo's trio with Jodi Proznick and
Jesse Cahill on Thursday, Grant joining on Fri/Sat) - expecting them to drop
into the show this Friday for a chat. Look stop and listen ... N
