[JPL] Air Play Ethics Question

This would be true to an extent Eric. I didn't mention that I donate a pretty good size portion of money from my CD's to the station when pledged for. The station benefits from this just as much as I do. I also do benefit concerts for the station and teach classes and the money is donated to the station. So me playing my music is a small bit of a reward I get in relation to what I give back. I also am an upper level member.
There's not much of a difference to me if someone asks you to appear for a speaking event and pays you. You're asked to do this because of your broadcasting position, knowledge of the subject and recognized name...which developed because of your radio position. You certainly profit in that regard correct? It's all relative in my view because if they hear my music and like it...they might buy it. If they would like me to host or speak at an event and pay me AFTER hearing me on air...I profit. There's not much of a difference and I'm sure many on this list have been asked to speak or host and have been paid. Just my opinion of course.
