I have worked with a dj (outside of jazz) who not only promotes his gigs on
his show but opens up his program with his own music. It comes across as
blatantly self promotional. There are ways this can be done though. The fact
you are asking the question first says that you are not operating from a
place of self promotion.It sounds to me like the music on the disc would be
something your audience stands to benefit from hearing. If I were you I
would probably just play the cd and not mention that you are playing on the
disc.
