at the risk of being self-serving...BeatleJazz has done it better than just about anyone...dave kikowski's playing and arrangements
are really something.? first two were released on zebra records. volumes 3 & 4 with some very nice special guest performances were on lightyear.? geroge benson's other side of abbey road had some great tracks as did NYC's Beatles tribute disc, Come Together.

Hey Jazz Family,
Next week marks the 45th anniversary of The Beatles coming to America.
So, I would like to know what are your favorite Beatle (and solo
Beatles) jazz covers? Since we're doing a whole week paying tribute to
the Fab Four any and all suggestions are welcome
Here, There and Everywhere,
Derrick

CLAUDIO RODITI: BRAZILLIANCE + 4
ONE OF THE MOST ADDED RECORDS. Ready For Audition Now!
A high water mark for everyone involved..., Roditi lets his chops fly in a
joyful noise that raises everyone's game. A must hear set for all
jazz/world/Brazil fans looking for that set that goes beyond Jobim.
Dominated by Roditi original tunes, this set opens the ears in fine fashion
giving the listener a lively, meaty, full blooded date to enjoy repeatedly.
Hot stuff.

CHRISTIAN HOWES with Roger Kellaway: HEARTFELT
DEBUT @ 27 *
Howes continues to win over fans ... and radio. Please take a listen to
this exceptional player. Kellaway's piano playing is powerful and swinging
throughout. The interplay between Christian and Roger is amazingly intuitive
for a first encounter. Christian's trademark passion pours through his
instrument. Kellaway, an uber-mainstream pianist who has played with
practically every jazz violinist of note -- Stephane Grappelli, Joe Venuti,
Ray Nance, Jean-Luc Ponty, etc. -- says of the Berklee College of Music
teacher, ''I think Christian is a major talent''
''The balance Heartfelt achieves here between solo, group interplay and
orchestration is quite remarkable and leaves a lasting impression.''

Coming soon from Resonance Records great guitar and organ: Jermaine
Landsberger with very special guest Pat Martino
