Curious, was the record store on Adams Blvd. Flash Records, or maybe Sam's?

Charles Mingus' "Blues & Roots" changed my life.
I first heard jazz music on the radio as a teenager living in Los Angles
from 1957-1960.
I'd listen to Sleepy Stein on KNOB. Chico Hamilton's "Sleepy Slept Here" was
his theme song.
I remember hearing a tune by The Mastersounds, Bud Powell's "Un Poco Loco"
on his show. 
I went to a record store on Adams Boulevard to buy the LP. 
When I opened the front door this music came rushing towards me, totally
enveloped me and 
almost knocked me over. 
I had never heard anything like that before. I asked the clerk what was he
playing.
He held up the cover to Mingus' "Blues and Roots." 
I took that album home with me that day. I've never been the same.

has just been issued on CD for the very first time with the title, 
"Introducing The Mastersounds Water's Edge" on  Fresh Sounds
