San Francisco's SFJAZZ Collective is one of the most exciting bands on the
planet. *The New York Times* declares that "the standard of musicianship
here, in terms of solo firepower, could hardly be higher."
Each year the ensemble performs an entirely new list of works consisting of
compositions of a modern jazz master (in new arrangements). Past programs
have included the music of Ornette Coleman (2004), John Coltrane (2005),
Thelonious Monk (2006), Herbie Hancock (2007), Wayne Shorter (2008) and,
now, McCoy Tyner (2009). The members also contribute original music for the
group. Don't be disappointed; reserve your tickets right away.
