Hersch is performing in Holland Michigan this Sunday afternoon in a
solo concert at Hope College. Blue Lake Public Radio has been given
permission to record the concert as we did in a solo performance in
Grand Rapids in May of 2006, right after his historic week at the
Village Vanguard. The version of "Round Midnight" he played at The
Urban Insitute for Contemporary Arts in Grand Rapids in 2006 is
astonishing -- one of the great moments in improvised music I'm glad
was recorded.
