Vancouver's Coastal Jazz & Blues Society is pleased to present two of the
most accomplished guitarists in contemporary music—Bill Frisell and Russell
Malone. This highly anticipated duo performance takes place Friday, February
27 at 8 PM at Christ Church Cathedral (690 Burrard Street).

Bill Frisell is no stranger to Vancouver audiences. Coastal Jazz has
presented the Grammy Award winner to local music aficionados since 1986.
Today, Bill is one of the most sought-after guitarists in the world. His
signature sound has been heard in collaborations with artists as diverse as
Charlie Haden, Kenny Wheeler, Elvin Jones, Marianne Faithful, Bono, Daniel
Lanois and the Frankfurt Ballet.

Vancouver audiences first got to know Russell Malone from our many
presentations of Diana Krall. His deep, gutsy,  blues-drenched sound has
also been heard with Harry Connick Jr., Aretha Franklin, Jimmy Smith and
Wynton Marsalis. Malone's guitar swings with relentless drive and energy.
His vast arsenal includes hard-hitting melodies, unstoppable grooves, and
tender ballads. He's one of the best string players of his generation.

Debuting as a duo in Vancouver: Bill Frisell and Russell Malone. The concert
will be recorded by CBC/Radio-Canada.
