Your talking about the beloved DIGITAL MILLENNIUM COPYRIGHT ACT and  
basically here's how it goes...

The Rules in Brief

DO NOT:

Play more than 4 songs by the same artist (or 3 in a row) within a 3  
hour period.
Play more than 3 songs from the same album (or 2 in a row) within a 3  
hour period.
