[JPL] about the Rochester Festival - some more jewels

Thanks for sharing your jewels, Arturo - I'd like to add some of my  
own that are actually taking place during the JazzWeek Summit (anybody  
else notice that days of the week are nowhere to be found on the PDF  
of the festival's schedule!?):

Lionel Loueke (Benin) whose name is misspelled on the schedule, BTW -  
Nils Petter Molvaer (Norway), Toni Kofi (UK), Susan Pereira & Sabor  
Brasil (Rio via NYC), KJ Denhert - don't know where in the US she's  
from but her recent "Live At Umbria Jazz" CD was a revelation (I  
especially like her version of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow)...too bad  
organissimo is booked on the first day of the festival at the VIP only  
party but rumor has it as they are going to be in the Northeast for a  
spell they might swing back through Rochester during the Summit.

I have the highest admiration for Dave Brubeck, as a man and musician. I
have always enjoyed Taj Mahal as his Caribbean roots always have come
through his brand of blues-not a fan of Susan Tedeschi though, that  
aside
for me the real jewels of the festival are the Kilbourn Hall  Concerts  
line
up:
The Festival's Kilbourn Hall Concerts will feature the Bill Frisell  
Trio,
Joey DeFrancesco,
Ernestine Anderson, Chico Hamilton & Euphoria, Dafnis Prieto Sextet  
(Cuba),
Baye Kouyate (Mali), Monty Alexander Trio (Jamaica), Pat Martino Trio  
and
the Joe Lovano Trio.
