Hi Russ,
Don't assume we knew that MOJA meant Modern Jazz.....
I thought the MOJA you were referring to was the number ONE in Swahili.....
That's what I assumed you meant.
Hope all is well my friend.
Aloha,
Bobby

My good radio/records/music industry friends...very soon a new online
radio entity will emerge (or make that BURST) upon the scene...MOJA
RADIO. If any of you followed the efforts of myself and my partner
Michelle Sammartino on the satellite radio channel Beyond Jazz (RIP)
then you know we covered all the wonders of modern jazz from Fusion
through all the various facets and sub-genres that have evolved since
the mid-1960's to today. Well, we've been hard at work since the
powers that were pulled the plug on our little effort of 7+ years and
we're just about ready to launch the channel online at
www.mojaradio.com. We just wanted the jazz community to know that
we've been keeping up with all the music that's been released since
our late 2008 demise and when we launch next month the releases below
will be in our current rotation, along with thousands of pieces of
music that cover the genre we call MOJA...which is our personal
moniker for our brand of MOdern JAzz. So thank you all for your
continued support and especially for the music service (we know it's
expensive!) and all that great music that falls between the cracks of
smooth and traditional will find its home again when MOJA Radio
launches! Of course I will continue my efforts on my weekly program
JAZZ AMERICA on Voice of America, playing the best of jazz past and
present, including new music from the traditional side of things, but
this is all about MOJA right now and we wanted to give you an update!
