two wonderful labels.....have enjoyed spinning them on and off air,but at the end of the day as most will agree, there is only 1 heavyweight champion (though given all the additional years of releases it may not be a "fair" fight)...Blue Note stands alone.

GOING FOR ADDS APRIL 7:
The smokin' US debut of Hammond B-3 ace JERMAINE LANDSBERGER

This great album features a rare guest appearance by Pat Martino + James Genus, Harvey Mason, Andreas Oberg & Gary Meek. Full of radio friendly tracks like ''Sno Peas'' and ''Filthy McNasty''
Also if you havent added the great CLAUDIO RODITI disc Brazilliance X4 yet, why not?
* * * * (four stars) Down Beat

I've always admired the Blue Note audio quality, excellent photography, very readable track labels, times, and sidemen listed prominently on the back. I don't recall ever having a bad-sounding Blue Note recording, but have heard a few P
restige recordings that had a sub-par sound, such as background hiss. For those reasons, I believe that Blue Note has the edge, but thank God for the classic performances found on either label.
