Brandi Music and Easy On Hold are our streaming music services. At JazzWeek we will be reporting combined spins of "straight ahead" jazz tracks in our Jazz Masters, Jazz Late Night and Crooners channels. We welcome your submissions. We also welcome submissions for our other jazz related and jazz adjacent channels: Latin Jazz, Jazz Fusion, Bright Instrumentals, Easy Instrumentals, Smooth Jazz, Guitar & Piano, Beyond Borders, and Blues. We much prefer digital files via the Internet rather than CDs, but CDs will be accepted. We will try to respond to tracking calls periodically, but please be patient if we are not caught up. Please know that by passing on a submission we are not necessarily making a negative critical judgment on it, but rather only that, for many possible programming reasons, it doesn't fit our channels. Thank you very much for your interest in Brandi Music! Channel lineup: https://easyonhold.com/music-for-business/channels

NEW SERIES NOW AVAILABLE ON PRX (the Public Radio Exchange at prx.org) A new series of 1-hour specials incorporating rare, personal and historical conversations I have recorded over the past 4 decades with many of the greatest Jazz legends of our time and of course many of the great artists who today are taking the music to new and exciting places. The first installment in the series features a conversation I had with Don Cherry recorded in January of 1982. Upcoming episodes will include Teddy Edwards, Frank Morgan, Max Roach, Gloria Lynne, Joseph Jarman, Joe Williams, Cedar Walton...far too many to list them all here. Visit the Jazz from Gallery 41 Series page on PRX for more information re: licensing for your station. Jazz from Gallery 41 streams 24/7 with live broadcasts Monday through Friday 3 pm to 6 pm Pacific with occasional in-studio guests, interviews, and occasional live performances. Contact me via email to schedule artist interviews. For reporting purposes please call on Tuesdays between 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm Pacific. If these times are inconvenient, please contact me via email or leave a voice-mail and I will respond as soon as possible. --------- (Am also a member of the staff at KCSM-FM91 as on-air host/producer. Jazz from Gallery 41 airs on KCSM-FM91 Saturdays from 10pm - 2 am (PT). My JazzWeek reports are for Jazz from Gallery 41 only and do not represent plays during any programs I produce or host on KCSM which reports as a separate station entity.)

Blue Lake Public Radio is a service of Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, the international summer school for the arts located in the Manistee National Forest in northern Muskegon county in western lower Michigan. The radio station went on the air in 1982, and by March of 1983 "Jazz From Blue Lake" was being hosted by Lazaro Vega. Blue Lake Public Radio is proud to underscore Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp's commitment to music and fine arts education. Our primary market is Grand Rapids, though our 100,000 watt signal at 90.3FM reaches as far north as Traverse City, south to South Haven and we have FM listeners in Milwaukee. Lazaro is on the air playing jazz records seven days a week.

WWUH adopted the moniker "Public Alternative Radio" not long after going on the air in 1968. We broadcast from The University of Hartford, where Jackie McLean founded the Jazz Studies program in 1980. Each of our ten jazz hosts loves & respects the art form; most have been WWUH volunteers for over 20 years. Since the late 1970s, our staff has presented live broadcasts of the summertime Monday Night Jazz Series in Hartford's Bushnell Park. In 1995, WWUH became the first Connecticut radio station to stream all its programming online. I began hosting "Out Here & Beyond," a Tuesday morning jazz show, in May of 1994. On March 27, 2001, I became the station's Jazz Music Director as well. Despite the added responsibilities, I still enjoy producing a weekly three-hour jazz program. My only regret is that I no longer have much time for freelance writing about music.
John Ramsey, WWUH General Manager
860-768-4703
ramsey@hartford.edu
Hours: Monday - Friday afternoons, Eastern
John Ramsey began his association with WWUH Radio at age 15. His engineering skills & eagerness to volunteer persuaded the station's college-student staff to train him so that he could fill in for regular program hosts when asked. With the exception of a period during the 1970s, John has remained a WWUH staff member to this day. In 1978, he was elected as Chief Engineer, a position he still holds - and still handles with pride. He became WWUH's first paid general manager in 1986. John continues to serve in that capacity. His dedication & enthusiasm remain undiminished. John also writes extensively about radio's significance. He is author of "Hartford Radio" & webmaster at hartfordradiohistory.com. On October 20, 2015, Mr. Ramsey was one of 12 distinguished broadcasters selected as the first inductees into the "Connecticut Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame."

Much of our music is scheduled by Dave Becker from Las Vegas. We have a small, non-colocated staff and make much use our our automation system - meaning tracks must make it into the system and be distributed before getting the widest use (on not just WZUM aired programs, but across the PubJazz network). Music may be imported from one of three studio sites, so physical copies are valuable, but digital assets are very much appreciated.
