Blue Lake Public Radio is a service of Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, the international summer school for the arts located in the Manistee National Forest in northern Muskegon county. The radio station went on the air in 1982, and by March of 1983 "Jazz From Blue Lake" was being hosted by Lazaro Vega. I host and produce three jazz programs for WFIU--the weekday afternoon program "Just You and Me," the classic-jazz, thematic program "Night Lights" (which is syndicated on 16 stations in 45 markets), and the jazz, ballads, and American-popular-song program "Afterglow," which is syndicated on 7 stations in 16 markets. I will be reporting spins for all three shows. WFIU is the NPR member station in Bloomington, Indiana, and has been on the air since 1950.

Serenade is a popular 3-5 hour show with a focus on new jazz releases. Labels, artists, recording information and repertoire are always discussed. All kinds of jazz is featured, including progressive jazz. Jerry Gordon is the former owner of the label Evidence Records as well as the retail store Third St. Jazz in Philadelphia. The station's powerful signal reaches most of NJ, Philadelphia, and Delaware. The station streams its programs live. The independent station is located on the campus of Princeton University, in Princeton, NJ.

An Evening with TomtheJazzman originates on WTEB-89.3 and is also carried on WKNS-90.3, WBJD-9.15, WZNB-88.5, WHYC-88.5 and in Greenville at 88.1. These stations collectively are identified as Public Radio East. All frequencies have separate free standing transmitters with all programming NPR Morning Edition and All Things Considered. WTEB and WHYC also carry Classical Programming while WKNS, WBJD, WZNB and Greenville 88.1 are identified as the News and Ideas Network. An Evening with TomtheJazzman is heard on all frequencies. This program has been originating from WTEB for 27 years without a repeat program or set. Program also STREAMS on the Internet. Program has been running 27 years with never a repeat program or set. Program is in High Definition.

WWNO HD3 runs 24 hours of syndicated jazz daily (JazzWorks).
